Dear Editor:
I, along with some invited friends, attended the International Women’s Day held at the Glenvar Library last month. I was anxious to hear the speakers as the brochure had stated: “better the balance, better the World #BALANCEFORBETTER.” I was very disappointed as there was no balance amongst the speakers. I was sorry these women had nothing to offer our young or mature women, as their speeches were all about them. One of the speakers put her Pink Vaginal hat on, of course, removed it and later led in a “chant.”
I asked the “question” what were they trying to accomplish with this meeting? They were not able to provide an answer. The article in the Salem Times~Register stated they “wanted to bring more balance between men and women.” I am proud to be a woman.
