Ben Franklin Middle School took advantage of a couple Andrew Lewis turnovers to come from behind and beat the Wolverines in football last week. Franklin won 18-14 at Salem Stadium.
Quarterback Brayden Hall completed five passes in the game with Franklin and Lewis coach Brian Hooker complimented Jackson Bryie for a strong blocking game on the offensive line. The defense was led by defensive end Matthew McNeil.
Lewis fell to 1-3 with the loss and the Wolverines will try to turn things around this week when they host Blacksburg on Wednesday.
The Lewis seventh grade team lost to Clifton Forge on Monday, 46-8. The seventh graders were coming off a 7-6 win over Read Mountain on March 8.
