The Salem and Glenvar cross country teams will be on the trails this week trying to qualify for entry in their respective state meets. Both the Region 4D and Region 2C meets are scheduled for this week.
The 4D meet, including Salem High, was scheduled for Blacksburg High School on Tuesday. Results were too late for publication, but the top three teams and top five individuals not on those teams will advance to the state meet. That’s scheduled for the Oatlands Plantation course, just outside of Leesburg, on Saturday, November 12.
The Region 2C meet, with Glenvar, was scheduled to run on Wednesday of this week at Green Hill Park in West Roanoke County. The requirements to qualify for the state Class 2 meet are the same and that will also be held on November 12 and it will be back at Green Hill Park.
