Eight Old Dominion Athletic Conference volleyball teams were scheduled to open tournament play on Wednesday of this week with the top four seeds hosting games. Roanoke College slipped into the field at the eighth seed and the Maroons were scheduled to play at Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday.
Other first round games found second seeded Averett hosting Eastern Mennonite, third seed Washington & Lee entertaining Lynchburg and fourth seeded Randolph-Macon at home against Bridgewater. Semifinals are Friday and the championship is Sunday, all at the sites of the top seeds.
Roanoke came into the tournament with a 12-12 overall record and a 5-7 record in the ODAC.
