The City of Salem has announced that the J. Sinclair Brown Bridge on Colorado Street will be completely replaced. Given the extensive nature of the project, it is expected to take 18-20 months to complete the project, depending on the weather. Work on the heavily traveled bridge is already underway. Traffic patterns are expected to change as demolition and construction evolves. “Be alert as you travel this area and seek an alternate route, if possible,” the city advised. The bridge, which was built 1948, crosses over the Norfolk Southern tracks.
