Salem Forensics, Debate teams compete in Veterans Day Invitational

The Salem Forensics team won the speech portion of the competition and the Debate team had several members win trophies and medals. 

The winners include:

  • Lebron Parsell (12th grade)—1st place Extemporaneous Speaking 
  • Connor Smythers (11th grade) and Colton Easter (11th grade)—1st place Duo 
  • Charlie Bain (11th grade)—1st place Humorous
  • Noah Lovern (11th grade)—1st place Storytelling
  • Tara Forrokpoor (8th grade)—1st place Prose
  • Hannah Gordon (12th grade)—2nd place Varsity Lincoln-Douglas Debate with a 4-0 record
  • Claire Rawins (11th grade)—2nd place Impromptu
  • Hall Blackwood (11th grade)—2nd place Storytelling
  • Rebekah Steinweg (11th grade)—2nd place Student Congress Debate, voted “Most Outstanding Senator”
  • Quinn Roudebush (10th grade) and Lillyana Smith (9th grade)—2nd place Duo
  • Ava Milton (8th grade)—2nd place Humorous
  • Grasyn Mitchell (12th grade)—3rd place Prose
  • Pameet Gill (10th grade)—3rd place Original Oratory
  • Kaylee Sutphin (9th grade)—3rd place Dramatic
  • Aly Ory (8th grade) and Zippy Ellion (8th grade)—3rd place Duo
  • Kyra Netting (12th grade)—5th place Dramatic
  • Kody Hinnant (9th grade)—5th place Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate with a 3-1 record
  • Holly Vest (8th grade) and Rosalie Botos (8th grade)—6th place Duo
