Luca Docking and Salem’s Wyatt Whitlow each had four goals as the Roanoke College men’s lacrosse team defeated Randolph-Macon College, 15-8, in an ODAC game at Salem’s Kerr Stadium last Saturday.
Docking opened the scor-ing five minutes in, followed by a Clayton Bewick tally. After a Yellow Jacket goal, Julian Kammerman and Whitlow made the game 4- 1 and the Maroons had a 5- 2 lead after one period. Roanoke outscored the visi-tors 6-3 in the second period behind two goals from Julian Kammerman to go ahead 10-5 at halftime. Whitlow then scored twice in a 3-0 third period as the Maroons put the game out of reach, 13-5.
Julian Kammerman con-tributed three goals and an assist and Luke Kammerman scored twice for the Maroons. Alex Feuer made 12 saves and caused two turnovers in the cage. Feuer was named the ODAC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week Monday for the week of March 24.
The Maroons, now 7-2 overall and 4-0 in the ODAC, were scheduled to host Centre College on Wednesday, then travel to Massachusetts Saturday for a noon game with Amherst College.
