We knew the “Little General” could pick football games but apparently she knows a bit about college basketball as well. Pam “The Little General” Cassell of Salem is the winner of our Steps to the Championship basketball contest and it wasn’t even close.
Pam was correct on 57 of 63 games in our annual contest, winning the $50 gift certificate from Mac & Bob’s and a year’s subscription to the Salem Times-Register. She not only had the Final Four correct, but also was perfect in picking the “Elite Eight” and was 13-3 for the “Sweet Sixteen.” She had Houston winning it all but already had the contest locked up by that time.
Next year The General ought to go for that Million Dollars for the person who picks the entire bracket correctly. Imagine if someone had their entire bracket correct going into the final and only needed Houston to win Monday? Heart attack city.
Thanks to the many contestants we had this year, making me feel like a school teacher correcting tests. I have a friend who was a teacher for a couple years, and I won’t give the name, who only gave true-false tests because they were easy to correct. That’s a “true” story.
Hope you enjoyed the games as much as I did. I didn’t win any money on several pools that I entered but the games were exciting and now all the good players from smaller schools will know where they want to transfer to for next season.
