Roanoke College’s Maggie McCray and Carsyn Michaels each earned second-team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors Tuesday with the release of the all-ODAC team, voted on by the league’s coaches.
McCray, a senior right-handed pitcher, set two program records this season and an ODAC mark. She set the new conference and program single-game strikeout record with 20 in the ODAC Tournament in a 6-4 11-inning win over Bridgewater College. McCray shattered the RC single-season strikeout record with 205 in just 125.2 innings. She had a 13-7 record with one save and a 1.56 ERA. Opposing batters hit just .165 against her.
Michaels, a sophomore outfielder, hit .305 on the season and was the team’s top power hitter with seven doubles, four triples and two home runs. She led the squad with 17 RBI and tied for third with 13 runs scored.
