Salem’s Murray Cook was among the inductees when the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inducted the Class of ’25 in Virginia Beach the last weekend in April. Right, friends and family from the Roanoke Valley who traveled to the beach to see Murray inducted join in for a group shot. In addition to Cook and Whitaker other members of the Class of ’25 include Brandon Adair, Dan Bonner, Ed George, Ali Krieger, Harry Minium, Jr., Joe Smith and Mike Smith. Cook is regarded as one of the top turf and field experts in the world, constructing ballfields for countless events.
