Brooke Smyth(center), a senior at Glenvar High School, was the recipient of the annual Don Holliday Memorial Scholarship as presented by the Don Holliday Memorial Scholarship Board of Directors. The $30,000 scholarship has been presented annually since 1987 and is administered by the Roanoke Valley Golf Hall of Fame to a deserving Southwest Virginia girl or boy who has an interest in golf. Smyth was a member of the Glenvar golf team in the fall and she’s also a member of the Glenvar girls’ soccer team in the spring. She has a 4.04 grade point average and is involved in many extra curricular and charity organizations. Brooke will attend Virginia Tech in the fall.
