The Roanoke College women have improved their soccer record to 3-2-1 after starting the season with two losses.
Roanoke defeated Greensboro College, 3-0, last Friday in Greensboro to raise their record over .500.
The Maroons got on the board first on a corner kick with 10 minutes left in the first half. An initial shot was blocked by a Methodist defender but Irene Orndorff collected the rebound and drilled a left-footed shot into the lower right corner of the net.
RC held the 1-0 lead into halftime, outshooting the Pride 12-0 in the game’s first 45 minutes. Then, Rebecca Carr intercepted an attempted Greensboro clear and blasted a shot past the GC keeper at 55:15. Lauren Fisher headed in a corner kick from Brooke Nicholson less than two minutes later to give Roanoke a three-goal lead.
The Maroons play Centre College at Kerr Stadium in Salem this Sunday.
