WASHINGTON — On Jan. 3, Rep. Ben Cline, R-Va. issued a statement following the successful capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by U.S. forces during a military operation earlier this month. U.S. troops seized Maduro in Caracas and brought him to the United States to face criminal charges, including narcotics and weapons offenses, in federal court in Manhattan.
“Protecting our people, securing our border, and dismantling drug trafficking networks is non-negotiable,” Cline said. “We will use every lawful tool available to stop this crisis, hold those responsible accountable, defend our sovereignty, and keep American families safe.”
Cline represents Virginia’s Sixth Congressional District.
