Several Salem students have been recognized for academic achievement at their respective colleges and universities.
Elijah Bowery I, of Salem, was named to the President’s List at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, after earning a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the spring 2025 semester.
East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, announced that more than 4,700 students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2025 semester. To qualify, undergraduate students must complete at least 12 credits, excluding audits, incompletes, repeats and pass/fail courses, with no grade below a B-minus and a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Local students named to the ETSU dean’s list include Avery Lewin and Corrine Neff, both of Salem.
Claire Rawlins, of Salem, was also named to the dean’s list at the University of Alabama for the fall 2025 semester. University officials reported that 15,388 students were recognized on the dean’s list, awarded to those earning a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, or the president’s list, awarded to students earning a 4.0 average.
