The 11th ranked Virginia Tech softball team improved their record to 21-2 by sweeping all five of their games at the “Hokie Invite” at the James I. Moyer Complex in Salem last weekend. The Hokies beat Michigan on Thursday, 5-3, then shut out James Madison on Friday evening, 7-0. On Saturday Tech won two, 7-6 over Penn State and 8-2 over Radford University, then polished off the weekend with an 11-1 win over Bryant on Sunday morning. Above, the Moyer Complex in Salem is packed for Friday’s game with JMU. Avery Layton(left) pitched five shutout innings to pick up the win and Nora Abromavage(#7 right) had two hits and two runs batted in. The Hokies will take a 14 game winning streak to Elon, NC to play Elon University today. This week they play three ACC games against Duke in Durham, NC, at 6 pm Friday, 2 pm Saturday and 6 pm Sunday.
