Janet Ruby Keeney, 93 of Salem, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; William E. Ruby in 2003, Richard A. Keeney in 2020, and son-in-law Arthur J. Provenzano in 2020.

Known by friends as Jan and family as Gran, she was born to the late Eldon and Mildred Brown in Frankfort, Indiana on September 21, 1932.

Jan attended Indiana University and was a member of Phi Mu sorority. Jan was an active volunteer in many roles within the community. She was also as a longtime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Hidden Valley Country Club.

She is survived by her loving blended family; Sharie Provenzano, Paula and Bill Gerrol, Russ Ruby and Valerie Casler, Scott and Miles Ruby, Monsignor Tim Keeney, Kay and Kevin Madden, Bridget and Mike Waterman, Bill and Dana Keeney, 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and many dear friends and extended family.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 42 East Main Street Salem. The family will receive friends after the service at Hidden Valley County Club, 2500 Romar Rd, Salem.

In lieu of flowers please make donation in Jan’s name to the St. Paul’s Endowment Fund, 42 East Main St Salem, Virginia, 23153
