The Roanoke College men’s volleyball team will host the University of Lynchburg in a big ODAC doubleheader this Saturday. The first match is scheduled for 1 pm at the Cregger Center in Salem.
Roanoke is 16-7 on the season and 9-2 in the ODAC after dropping a match to Randolph-Macon in Ashland last Saturday, three sets to one. The Yellow Jackets improved to 23-4 with the win and they’re still undefeated in conference play after 11 ODAC matches.
The two rivals split the first two sets, with RMC winning 25-15 and the Maroons taking the second set, 25-20. The next two sets were battles, but Randolph-Macon used a big run at the end of the third and at the beginning of the fourth to take them 25-20 and 25-21.
Pierce Faulcon was the leading Maroon offensively, tallying 12 kills. He was followed closely by Andre Gates, who had 11, and Jackson Rutkowski, who posted 10 kills. Johnny Moran racked up 24 assists in the match.
