VMI freshman Trace Monroe, a 2025 Salem High graduate and former Spartan baseball standout, is having an outstanding season for the Keydets. Through last weekend the lefthanded pitcher has appeared in eight games with a 2-0 record. Trace has struck out 22 batters in 21.2 innings with an earned run average of 3.32. VMI was 21-6 overall after defeating East Tennessee State on Sunday in Johnson City, TN, 5-4. The Keydets were scheduled to play at William & Mary on Tuesday and beginning today they’re back home to host Wofford for a three game series.
