The Salem Parks and Recreation Department has announced the lineup for its 2026 Movies in the Park series, which will return to Kiwanis Park for a third consecutive summer.

The free family-friendly movie series will feature four films between June and September at the historic park, located at the corner of Florida and Sixth streets. Kiwanis Park has hosted sports and entertainment events since opening in 1932.

The series begins June 26 with the DreamWorks animated film “Bad Guys 2.” Gates will open at 7 p.m., and the movie will begin at dusk, approximately 8:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Additional movies scheduled for the summer include “Lilo & Stitch” on July 24, “Elio” on Aug. 21 and “How to Train Your Dragon” on Sept. 18.

The Friday evening events are sponsored by Renewal by Andersen and are designed to provide families with a free outdoor movie experience. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Refreshments will be available for purchase at the Kiwanis Park concession stands. Cash only.

City officials noted that pets are not permitted at the events.
