Do you think the “Rule of Law” is just legal mumbo-jumbo that has nothing to do with you? It’s not. The Rule of Law protects the way you live your life in our community. It means:
You can travel throughout our country without a pass.
Your landlord can’t evict you without your being able to challenge him in court.
You can challenge in court anyone who tries to take your car, your home, or your kids away from you.
You can worship any God, or none at all.
You can say or write anything you want, and get together with as many people as you want, unless you’re trying to hurt someone.
You can elect representatives who make the laws that govern us.
You can vote without the government knowing how you voted.
You can keep and carry weapons unless you are threatening someone with them.
Your house can’t be searched without a warrant.
You can’t be charged with, tried or convicted of a crime without having the right to be represented by a lawyer before an impartial jury or judge.
These are just a few of the ways the Rule of Law affects YOU.
Some people want to do away with the Rule of Law in America. They want to put themselves outside the reach of the Rule of Law to gain influence, power or money. Call out these people out when you see them. Oppose them every way you can.
Your way of life is at stake.
