Annual Fishing Rodeo dates set

66th Annual Ernest “Pig” Robertson Event

The City of Salem Parks & Recreation Department is once again ready to host the 66th annual Ernest “Pig” Robertson Fishing Rodeo at Lake Spring Park on the following dates:

Children Ages 3-8 Saturday, April 22 9 a.m. – Noon

Children Ages 9-12 Saturday, April 29 9 a.m. – Noon (No Rain Dates for These Two Events)

Special Needs Children Day Monday, April 24 10 a.m. – Noon

Nursing Home Patients Day Wednesday, April 27 10 a.m. – Noon (Special Needs Rain Date is April 25 – Nursing Home Rain date is April 27)

The City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department presents this free event and pre-registration is not required. The Salem Kiwanis Club, MedExpress Urgent and Scooter Darnell with Re/Max-Real Estate One are sponsoring this year’s fishing rodeo. Many businesses in the community also have donated prizes and money to help make this event such a success in past years. The top angler will receive a trophy and prizes will be awarded throughout each day. For additional information, call the Salem Parks and Recreation Department at 375-3057.
