Bank of Botetourt’s President & CEO elected to the Virginia Bankers Association’s Board of Directors

Bank of Botetourt is pleased to share that its President and CEO, G. Lyn Hayth, III has been elected to  serve on the Virginia Bankers Association Board of Directors. The Virginia Bankers Association represents  banks of all sizes and charters and has served as the unified voice for Virginia’s $881 billion banking  industry and its 45,000 employees since 1893. 

  1. Lyn Hayth, III has been with the Bank for 36 years, and has been in banking for almost 40 years. Since  becoming CEO in 2010 the Bank has expanded from ten branches to thirteen, covering more than 2,500  square miles with more than $717 million in total assets. Bank of Botetourt is proud to be the largest  bank headquartered in the Roanoke MSA and is now the longest serving financial institution in our  region. 

Hayth graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics and a Master of Science Degree  from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is a graduate of the Virginia Bankers School  of Bank Management at the University of Virginia and is also a graduate of the Graduate School of  Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He resides in Botetourt County with his wife, Angela. 

Bank of Botetourt was chartered in 1899 and operates thirteen retail offices in Botetourt, Rockbridge,  Roanoke, and Franklin counties, the City of Salem, and the Town of Vinton, all in Virginia. Bank of  Botetourt also operates a mortgage division, Virginia Mountain Mortgage and a financial services  division, Botetourt Wealth Management.
