Natalie McMahon (#9) and Sydney Loder (#1) go up for a block in last week’s win over William Byrd.
Audrey Conner sets one up.

The Glenvar volleyball team is 2-0 against Class 3 Blue Ridge District opponents and 3-0 overall after defeating William Byrd and Northside in the past week. Glenvar has still not lost a set.
Last Thursday in Vinton the Highlanders downed host William Byrd, 25-7, 25-14 and 25-11. Sydney Loder had a great night to lead the visitors with three aces and six kills on nine attempts with no errors. Audrey Conner had 25 serves, 24 assists and four aces and Claire Griffith had eight kills.
“Everyone got on the court and everyone contributed,” said Glenvar coach Mark Rohrback. “It was a good win.”
On Monday the Highlanders played at Northside and dominated again, winning 25-9, 25-9 and 25-11. This time it was Natalie McMahon having the big night with 10 kills, five blocks, eight digs and a couple aces. Cara Butler had 29 assists and 11 digs while Rhyan Harris had five kills and three blocks.
The Highlanders are now off until next Tuesday, September 6, when William Byrd returns the trip. A week from tonight Northside is at Glenvar.
