Roanoke College’s Mara Briggs was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Track & Field Athlete of the Week by the league on Monday.

Briggs, a junior from Marion, VA, put together a strong first outdoor performance of the season at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational. A national qualifier in the indoor high jump, Briggs won the event this weekend after clearing 1.63 meters (5-4.25) to take over the top spot in the ODAC. That mark is also fifth-best in NCAA Division III so far this season.
