BRYANT, CELIA C. | Fincastle Herald

She was born on October 24, 1931 in Iron Gate to the late Lee Andrew and Maggie Clark Cary. She was a homemaker throughout her life. Mrs. Bryant was a life member of the Iron Gate Advent Christian Church, where she served on the board and was also a member of the Ladies Circle. She was a beloved wife and devoted mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clayton Bryant in July 2002; a son, James Bryant; a daughter, Donna Bryant Gobble; six brothers and three sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Joy Chambers (Bill) of Buchanan, Mary Shorter (Buddy) of Iron Gate, and Tammy Johnson (Alan) of Eagle Rock; a son, Joe Bryant of Fincastle; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Anderson of Iron Gate; two sisters, Marylen Wolfe (Ryland) of Iron Gate and Hilda Mitchell (John) of Manassas; a brother, Buddy Cary of Iron Gate; nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 4, 2at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Rev. Gene Ayers and the Rev. Victor Nicely officiating. Interment will follow in Iron Gate Community Cemetery, Iron Gate.
