Christopher Newport scored the first four goals of the game and went on to a 17-6 win over the Roanoke College men’s lacrosse team last Saturday at Kerr Stadium in Salem. The Captains remained undefeated at 3-0 while RC dropped to 1-1.

Ethan Caldwell led Roanoke with a pair of goals while Luke Kammerman added two assists. Austin Gambino won nine more face offs giving him 34 in the first two games of the season.

In goal, Matt Federau recorded 18 saves as Roanoke was out-shot 35-18 on the afternoon. Griffin Buck and Federau each picked up four ground balls with RT Williamson causing a pair of turnovers.

The Maroons are scheduled to open Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Saturday when they travel to Bridgewater.
