Celebrate Love Your Library Month

Show your love for the library by purchasing specially wrapped Hershey candy bars when you visit during the month of February.  They are three for $5 or 1 for $2.  All proceeds go to benefit the Friends of the Salem Library (FOSL) to assist with their support of educational library programs and additional equipment needs.   

Upcoming Events:

Feb 9:  DMV Connect at Salem Library: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4 p.m.  Walk- ins only     

Virtual Author Talk:  Lana Harper; NY Times Bestselling author, 7 p.m.; register at www.salemlibrary.info      

Feb 15:  Same Page Book Club: LGBTQ+ book club 6:30 p.m.

Feb 16:  Virtual Author Talk:  Grace M. Cho; award-winning author, 1 p.m. Register at www.salemlibrary.info

Feb 28:  Afternoon Book Club: “In Every Mirror She’s Black,” by Lola Akinmade Akerstrom, 1 p.m.

Virtual Author Talk:  Sadega Johnson; award-winning author, 4 p.m. Register at www.salemlibrary.info

Black History Month program: 6 p.m. In-person book talk: “The Coach Gaither Story: Strong Faith and Tough Love in the Star City”

Kids programs in February (registration required at salemva.libcal.com)

Wednesdays:  Story Explorers:  Children aged 0-5; 10:30 a.m.

Saturday Story Explorers:  Children aged 0-5; 11 a.m.

Thursdays:  Barks & Books:  Read with a therapy dog.  Children aged 6-11; 3:30 p.m.

39 Clues Book Club:  Tues, Feb. 14, 3:30 p.m., 5th-8th graders.

3-Day Book Sale March 2-4! 

Celebrate Read Across America Day by restocking those shelves with a huge array of fiction, nonfiction, movies, audiobooks, and more, for kids, teens, and adults! All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Salem Library.  Join the Friends to get early access to the sale!

Hours: 

Thursday March 2nd: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.: Early-bird Friends of Salem Library sale

Thursday March 2nd: 1 p.m.-8 p.m.: Public sale

  Friday March 3rd: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.: Public sale

Saturday March 4th: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.: Public sale
