Douglas Blaine Copenhaver, 83, of Salem passed away on April 28, 2024.

A native of Virginia he was the devoted husband of 65 years to Eleanor Vaught Copenhaver who survives and the son of Charles E. Copenhaver and Lottie Dix Copenhaver, both deceased. Douglas retired from VDOT after 42 years of service.

In addition to his wife those left to cherish his memory are his children, Karen Collier and husband Larry of Clermont, FL and Michael Copenhaver of Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandchildren, Katelyn Clawson and husband Ryan of Clermont, FL and Kelsey Sprouse and husband Brian of Roanoke, VA; and two great grandchildren, Nora Clawson and Nolan Clawson.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ben Lockhart officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
