Two Salem City Councilmembers were sworn in Dec. 12, to be prepared to take their seats at the first meeting of the new year on Jan. 13.
Circuit Court Judge Chris Clemens of Salem administered the oath to new Councilmember Anne Marie Green, and returning Councilman Renee Turk. Councilman John Saunders will be sworn in later. All will serve three-year terms.
They will begin their terms Jan. 1, 2025. Turk will serve her second term. She has been mayor, which is elected by fellow Councilmembers. Council will elect a mayor and vice mayor at the Jan. 13 meeting.
