By Benita VanCleave, Library Corner – Empowering individuals to build a stronger community
“Create! Art Fest!” What a perfect way to kick off a summer reading program with the theme of “Color Our World.” An all-age event, everyone is invited to join us on the library lawn for an opportunity to do hands-on activities with real artists! Representatives from Taubman Museum and the Children’s Gallery (a new maker studio and exhibition gallery for kids in Roanoke) will be on hand to assist the budding artists. Other local artists will display and talk about their art and there will be many fun art activities. Rain or shine, the event will go on. In case of rain, activities will be moved inside the library.
