Glenvar High School senior Reese Dunkenberger will continue her education and swimming career at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Reese is a 12-time state medalist in high school competition at Glenvar, six in individual events and six in relays. She has won back to back championships in the 100 yard freestyle and is the Class 2 state record holder at 52.30.  She also finished runner-up five times, three times in individual events and twice in relays. She’s won 11 champions in Region 2C, six individual and five in relays.

“Reese is a tireless worker and fierce competitor in the pool,” said Glenvar coach Shannon Hall. “She is also an exceptional student in the classroom and will be a tremendous asset to Tulane University.  I am very proud of what she’s accomplished and is yet to accomplish at Glenvar High School.  I look forward to watching her grow as a person and athlete as she transitions from the green and gold of Glenvar to the Green Wave of Tulane.”

Dunkenberger is in New Orleans this week, where her aunt has lived for the past 10 years. She’s excited about the chance to swim for the Green Wave, a member of the American Athletic Conference.

“I love the atmosphere,” she said. “They have an amazing team and the whole team travels. Also, I want to go into the medical field and they have lots of opportunities.”
