A team of 16 volunteers from Fellowship Community Church recently returned from the church’s first mission trip to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, where members spent nine days serving children, local communities, schools and ministry leaders.
The team traveled July 17–25 and partnered with Nuevo Corazón, a home for girls ages 8 to 18 who have experienced difficult circumstances. According to the church, volunteers worked throughout the week to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the residents through baking and sewing classes, handyman projects, daily devotions, prayer and personal testimonies.
The girls from Nuevo Corazón also joined the mission team in outreach efforts in impoverished neighborhoods. Together, they distributed food, clothing and first aid kits while sharing their Christian faith with families.
Each morning, volunteers hosted Vacation Bible School programs at local schools, offering Bible lessons, games, music and activities for children.
The team also conducted evangelism training for leaders at Trinity School and Cristo Rey Church, providing practical instruction and encouragement on sharing their faith.
Church leaders described the mission trip as a life-changing experience for both the volunteers and those they served. They said the inaugural trip marks the beginning of an ongoing partnership with Nuevo Corazón, with plans to continue supporting the ministry and strengthening relationships in Bolivia through future mission trips.
