This week is our last football contest of the season.
Where did the season go? It seems like just yesterday I was taking pictures at high school summer camps and getting ready for the season. Sure, we still have college and lots of pro games to go, but the high school season is special and it’s over.
It’s Christmas so I didn’t have time to correct last week’s contests. Rest assured I will announce the winners next week. If you get your paper on Friday this week due to the post office being closed on Christmas you can put your entry in the box any time before noon on Saturday, as there are no Friday games.
Some explanation for this week’s games. You’ll notice the space for two CFP tournament finalists. You’ll just have to make an educated guess as to who those teams will be. If you think James Madison and Ohio State will play for the championship put those two in the “CFP Finalist” spots and then the national champion in blank number 12.
Likewise, you’ll have to predict who will be in the Super Bowl, and then who will win that game. Be careful not to pick the Panthers and the Steelers in spots 13 and 14 and then pick the Cowboys as Super Bowl champs, because you’re bound to get a least one wrong.
We’ll add a year’s subscription to the Salem Times-Register, paper or digital, to the $50 gift certificate from Mac & Bob’s that goes to the winner. Also, for our 19th Hole question give me your Super Bowl prediction, with score, and the closest will get a free day of golf. And, the weather should be nicer by then.
