A detached garage was heavily damaged in a fire Saturday evening in the Glenvar area of Roanoke County, according to Roanoke County Fire and Rescue officials.
Crews responded at 5:08 p.m. May 3 to the 2500 block of Creekside Drive after reports of a residential structure fire. First-arriving units from Company 9 in Fort Lewis reported heavy flames and smoke coming from a detached garage and declared a working fire at 5:13 p.m.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 15 minutes. No injuries were reported, and no residents were displaced, officials said.
The Roanoke County Fire Marshal’s Office said the fire originated inside the detached garage at 2528 Creekside Drive. The cause remains under investigation.
Damage was estimated at $100,000, according to the fire marshal’s office. No fatalities were reported.
