The Roanoke College men’s volleyball team will have their first ever home match when the Maroons host Penn State-Altoona on Saturday evening. The match will be held on campus in the Bast Center, beginning at 6 pm, due to water damage to the Cregger Center floor. The Maroons opened their first season with a one win, two loss showing at Springfield, Ohio last weekend at Wittenberg College.

The Maroons lost their first ever match in four sets, 25-16, 20-25, 25-22 and 25-20 to host Wittenberg on Friday. On Saturday the Maroons played Eastern Mennonite and lost in five, 27-25, 23-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-13. Then, against Geneva, the Maroons picked up the program’s first win in four sets.

Roanoke lost the first set, 25-14, but rallied to win the next three by scores of 25-13, 25-20 and 25-23. Michael Cummins led the Maroons on Saturday with 23 kills. He was followed by Jackson Rutkowski with 18 over the two matches. On the defensive side of the ball, Kaeden Noble had 22 digs in the first match with Parker Steele leading the way in the second with 10. Connor Brooks finished with seven total blocks, including two solo.
