The Friday Evening Artisan Markets will return to the Salem Farmers Market this summer, offering local artists and makers a chance to showcase and sell their work in the heart of downtown Salem.
The evening markets will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on July 25, Aug. 22, and Sept. 26. The first one was held on June 27. Introduced last season to meet rising interest from local creators, the events were well received by vendors and shoppers alike.
The Salem Farmers Market, operated by the City of Salem, features 25 covered stalls and is typically open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. It hosts only local farmers and food producers selling fresh produce, pasture-raised meats, eggs, baked goods, flowers, and more. Last season was among the busiest in recent years, with over 100 small businesses participating.
The Friday markets expand the regular offerings to include local artisans. Vendors pay a $5 fee per market day and can set up in covered stalls or, if needed, in the adjacent parking lot. Each stall includes an 8-foot table. Stall assignments will be shared the week of each event.
