Come one all, come all. Stock up on your favorite reads, movies or CDs, at the Friends of the Salem Library (FOSL) fall book sale during the weekend of Olde Salem Days. While Olde Salem Days is a one-day event held on the second Saturday of September (September 13th this year), the book sale is an all-weekend event beginning on Friday, September 12. The book sale kicks off with FOSL Members Only time from 9am to12pm on Friday morning. Join the FOSLs at the door for entry into the sale. Individual membership is $10, Family membership is $15, Sustaining membership is $25, Life membership is $75.
The book sale chairman, Ken Sosnowski, reports that the supply of donated books is on the verge of overflowing the storage area and offers a vast range of topics and authors. He recommends joining the FOSLs to shop first Friday morning if you have a favorite topic or author. Parking will be available in the library’s lot on Friday but not on Saturday. Help us clear out the books left at the Sunday bag sale. Pay $5 for a brown bag full or $10 to fill a reusable FOSL bag.
There will be the usual collection of popular authors, but in addition, the FOSLs have received sizable collections relating to Native Americans, Military History, World cultures and religions, and Home Schooling. Many unique books, including first editions are listed on the FOSL website (www.SalemLibraryFriends.org)
