Friends of the Salem Library (FOSL) will hold its 2nd annual spring book sale Thursday, March 1 through Sunday, March 3. The FOSL book sales provide the largest source of revenue the organization raises to directly benefit the Salem Public Library.

FOSL book sale hours:

Friday, March 1:  Friends members only presale from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Public sale from 12-5 p.m.

Saturday, March 2:  Public sale from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Sunday, March 3:  Big bag day from 1-4 p.m.

Donations made to The Friends of the Salem Library are tax deductible. Those interested in getting early access to the sale can join the FOSLs.

Reminder:  Kids ages 0-5 that live in the 24153-area code may sign up for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and receive a free book in the mail once a month until they reach their 5th birthday.  “Share information with friends and family members who have young children,” Benita Rae VanCleave, senior librarian, said.  “If you have family living in other areas of the United States, go to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library website (https://dollypartonimaginationlibrary)and check on program availability in their area.  Getting access to books for children beginning at birth is important to build literacy skills that lead to later success at school.”
