The Glenvar tennis teams will wrap up the regular season this week and wait to see how the region rankings shake out.

The Glenvar boys were scheduled to end the regular season on Tuesday with a match at Patrick County. The Highlanders were 9-4 after defeating Radford last week. Glenvar played Floyd Monday but no results were reported.

The girls were at Floyd Monday and dropped a 9-0 decision on a 90 degree day.

“We played well but Floyd has a solid team and were firing on all cylinders,” said Glenvar coach Shannon Hall.

Last Thursday the girls took an 8-1 win at Carroll County. Singles winners were Rebecca Magruder, Karis Gillespie, Priya Patel, Julia Carroll and Emma Peters and doubles winners were Shawna Garwood and Magruder, Gillespie and Cay Jones and the team of Rayah Kelley and Laura Peris.

Glenvar is 8-6 and had a home match with Patrick County on Tuesday followed by a Senior Night match with Carroll County.
