The Glenvar basketball teams are off for the holidays, returning with a big night of action next Tuesday. Both the boys and girls will play jayvee-varsity doubleheaders at home against Carroll County.

The action begins at 5:30 pm when the varsity girls host the Cavaliers in the main gym and the jayvee boys play Carroll in the Glenvar Middle School gym. Then, at 7:30 pm, the varsity boys play in the main gym and the jayvee girls battle Carroll in the Middle School gym, making for four games in the same night.

Both teams have been off since before Christmas. The girls haven’t played since December 18, and they’ll start 2018 with a 4-4 record.

The Glenvar boys are 3-4 after losing to Northside at GHS on December 21, 66-35. The Highlanders were overmatched in this one, as Northside scored 20 of the first 22 points and led 39-8 at the half. Mason Holliday led the Highlanders with 13 points and Noah Duncan had eight.
