The Glenvar High tennis players were participating in Conference 38 singles and doubles tournaments in Martinsville this week. Finals for both are scheduled for today.

Adonis Rose is representing the Glenvar boys in singles and teaming up with Freddy Eichelman in doubles.  For the girls, Kara Wright will play singles for the Highlanders and team up with Riley Ginger in doubles.

The Glenvar boys are already in the Region 2A team tournament after winning Conference 38 last week. The Highlanders beat Radford in the semifinal round, 5-2, as Rose, Eichelman, Nick Deaton and Garrett Howell all won singles and Rose and Eichelman won at number one doubles.

Glenvar beat Narrows in the championship and got singles wins from Rose, Zach Chittum, Deaton and Howell. Richard Burton and Howell won at number three doubles to clinch the match.

The Highlanders will open region play on Monday with a home match against Grayson County.
