The Glenvar girls were scheduled to host Giles on Wednesday night hoping to break a losing streak that has now reached 56 games going back to the post-season of 2023. Giles comes into the week at just 2-11 after losing to Class 1 Bland County by 25 points last week.

The Highlanders have come up empty 14 times this season and were weathered out of a home game with Martinsville on Tuesday. Giles is a team the Highlanders have an even-money chance to beat but continued cold weather and ice put that game in jeopardy at press time.

Last Wednesday Glenvar host William Byrd and fell 56-25. Ryan Jones had seven points and Reagan Duncan led the team with eight rebounds.

On Friday at Floyd the always tough Buffalo gals stampeded the Highlanders to the tune of 70-19. Audrey Moles had nine points and Zella Hayes had seven points and 14 boards.
