The Glenvar golfers took fourth place among six teams in a Three Rivers District match at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club Monday. Glenvar shot at team total of 363.

Floyd County won the round with a score of 324, and the Buffaloes had the medalist as Ryne Bond came in at 75. Host James River was second at 336, followed by Radford at 342 and Glenvar at 363. Alleghany carded a team score of 476 and Carroll County had 497.

Glenvar’s best score was an 87 by Jacson Shepherd. Mason Hylton was next at 89, followed by Jay Roberts at 91 and Brendan Magruder at 96.

The Highlanders also played Northside in a non-district match at Hanging Rock last week. Northside, who is second in the Blue Ridge District race, shot a 160 to Glenvar’s 175 over nine holes.

Mason Hylton had Glenvar’s best score in this one with a 40, while Jacson Shepherd had 41 over nine holes on the par 35 front nine. Aiden Hylton had 46 and Grayson Shepherd shot 48 as two families had all four scoring totals for the Highlanders.

Glenvar was scheduled to return to action on Wednesday of this week at Great Oaks in a Three Rivers match hosted by Floyd.
