The Three Rivers District was scheduled to finish their regular season of matches Wednesday with a round at the Olde Mill Course in Laurel Fork, VA.
Wednesday’s round won’t have a bearing on the regular season championship. Floyd County wrapped that up long ago, winning every single Three Rivers match, including last week’s round at the Hanging Rock Golf Club in Roanoke County. The Buffaloes shot a team score of 298 to win by 23 strokes over James River. Glenvar was third with 326 followed by Radford at 331, Patrick County at 332, Carroll County at 338 and Martinsville at 459.
James River’s Landon Bolling was the medalist with a three-under-par 69. Radford’s Hunter Crist shot 70 and Floyd had the next two best scores, 71 by Peyton Mason and 72 by Isaiah Cantrell.
Glenvar’s best score was a 75 by John Deel. JD Williamson was next at 77 followed by Jack Osburn at 83 Easton Quesenberry at 91. The 326 was Glenvar’s low score of the season.
“We definitely left some shots out there but were pleased with the efforts,” said coach Shawn Duff. “Hanging Rock was in great shape and it was a perfect day for golf. We are continuing on the journey of making better decisions and staying positive.”
