Glenvar tennis boys are 8-1-1

The Glenvar tennis teams will be busy as the end of the season nears.

Glenvar’s boys were tied at 4-4 last Thursday against Alleghany when the last match got rained out.  Winning points for Glenvar in the match were Freddy Eichelman and Adonis Rose at first doubles, Zach Chittum and Garrett Howell at third doubles, Adonis at second singles and Richard Burton at fourth singles.

The boys beat Radford on Friday night, 6-3. The Highlanders swept the doubles by scores of 10-2, 10-8, and 10-8.  Winning singles points were Adonis at #1, Chittum at #3, and Howell at #6.

The match at Floyd Monday was rained out. Glenvar’s current record is 8-1-1, and the schedule for next week is Mon at Giles, Tueday home against Giles, Thursday at Floyd and Friday home versus Floyd.

The girls had a match with Radford postponed on Friday. The Highlanders were scheduled to host Radford Wednesday, play at Radford today and at Auburn Friday. Monday the girls host Giles.
