The Glenvar High volleyball team remained undefeated after 14 matches with a win at Radford Tuesday night. The girls were scheduled to host Carroll County on Wednesday.
Everyone on the team got in the game at Radford as the Highlanders took a 25-10, 25-11, 25-15 win over the Bobcats. Claire Griffith had 11 kills and Hannah Hylton had a great all-around night with nine kills, four aces and 21 digs. Natalie McMahon had 11 kills and Audrey Conner had 33 assists and four aces.
Last Thursday the Highlanders traveled to Floyd and won in three, 25-18, 25-9 and 25-9. Hylton led the team with 10 kills and she also had three aces and led the team in service receive. Griffith had nine kills and three aces while Conner had 30 assists and three aces, Rhyan Harris had three aces and Cara Butler had 11 digs.
This week’s home match with Carroll was moved from Thursday to Wednesday since the Glenvar football team had their game moved to Thursday. The Cavaliers gave Glenvar one of their toughest matches to date when they met in Hillsville.
“We are going to need to be on top of our game,” said Glenvar coach Mark Rohrback.
Next week the Highlanders will host Auburn in a non-district match on Monday followed by a visit from James River on Tuesday. A week from tonight the girls go to Alleghany.
