The Glenvar track team competed in the East Coast Elite meet in Christiansburg Saturday on a somewhat chilly day.
“It was a distance runner’s ideal day with the chilly temps, but not so much for the sprinters,” said Glenvar coach Neil Swanson. “We had a good time, but it’s tough for sprinters to get good times when it’s cold like that.”
Despite the weather senior Joey Loder won both the 110 and 300 hurdles. Evan Harris won the 800 and Aldin Smith took second in the 3,200. The boys 4×800 relay team of Asher Faught, Harris, Will Howard and Daniel Tozier took first.
For the girls, Aiden Beverly won the 200. Meena Chen was second in the 100 and Sophia Hammersley took second in the 100 hurdles.
