The Glenvar Highlanders Middle School football team hit the road for a tough battle against a talented Central Academy (CAMS) squad last Thursday and came away with another impressive victory, posting a 14-0 shutout.
Kayden Williams got the Highlanders on the scoreboard first, powering his way into the end zone with some tough running. Williams struck again later, this time hauling in a touchdown pass from quarterback Max Millette to help Glenvar take control of the game.
On the other side of the ball, the Highlander defense continued its outstanding play. Glenvar stood strong from start to finish, shutting out CAMS and keeping them off the scoreboard all night. Jase Ayers came up with a big interception for the Highlanders, making a key defensive play and helping shut down the CAMS offense.
With the 14-0 win, the Highlanders improve to 5-1 on the season and continue to play some great football on both sides of the ball. They’ll host Radford this evening at Highlander Stadium.
