Hayden Albright (above, front) was excited to show visitors around what will be her new home in Buchanan. The Habitat for Humanity house was moved last week from Botetourt Technical Education Center in Fincastle to its permanent foundation on Fourth Street in Buchanan where Habitat officials, volunteers, school officials, Town of Buchanan officials, well-wishers and the Daniel and Ashley Albright family gathered for a ceremony Friday morning. This is the first Habitat For Humanity house in Botetourt, but perhaps not the last. The Albrights and volunteers will be working over the next few months to finish the house that they expect to have ready for occupancy in October. The ceremony included tours of the home and thank yous to BTEC’s building trades students and instructor Philip Simmons, the Botetourt Education Foundation and Bank of Botetourt, which paid to have the house moved.
