High School football is just around the corner as both Salem and Glenvar open preseason practice this week. The season officially opens with regular season games on August 26.
Salem will have a designated practice today before opening two-a-days on Monday, August 1. The Spartans will go from 2 to 4 pm in the afternoon and 6-8 in the evening on the practice fields behind the high school. Salem will scrimmage at Brookville on August 12 and have a benefit game with Magna Vista at Salem Stadium on August 19, then open the season at Martinsburg in West Virginia on August 26.
Glenvar will open practice today at 3:30 pm. The Highlanders will scrimmage at William Byrd on August 12 and then participate in a high school jamboree at Blacksburg High on August 19. Glenvar will open the season at Galax on August 26.
